My Pontiac Grand am wont get a jump?

I accidentally left my high beams on when my car was sitting outside in my driveway and when I went to take my girlfriend home the car started bogging out and not letting me go over 40mph right before dying.

When we tried to jump it, the dash lights and stuff turn on but it wont turn over and completely start I have gas and everything what is the problem?
