Hi Group,

I'm in need of a replacement transmission or someone in my area who works on manual transmissions. Can anyone help me please?

Since we don't know your area have you tried Google?

Thank you, I didn't think to list where I was. However, I did find one and had it replaced. I can put it in 5th gear and drive for a little while, but it jumps into neutral. The people who worked on it had it forever because they couldn't figure out how to bleed the hydraulics. They only work on automatic transmissions and thought it work be a quick and easy process, but little did they know. After three weeks I finally got it back, but like I said it jumps out of gear. 2008 Solstice.

If it jumps into neutral there is something wrong with transmission or shifter. Did you take it back to the installer?
Why did you replace the original transmission?
Was the transmission you installed rebuilt before installation?

I haven't taken it back yet because they don't specialize in manual transmissions just automatic. I can put it in 5th but it doesn't go as easily as it did before the replacement. There was a noise on the inside of the transmission. The guy I took it to said it was either a bearing or synchronizer in which he couldn't repair because again it's a manual. Because I had the car towed there I didn't want the hassle of getting it from his shop to another shop. Around here absolutely no one works on manuals. I couldn't believe it. That why I bought another one so he could swap it out. May not have been the smartest thing to do but the most convenient for me at the time. I bought the transmission off of Red Line website. Used of course. I was first having problems with it going into gear, it had to warm up for about 25 minutes before it could even go into gear, I did the research, took it to a mechanic and found out it was the Master clutch cylinder, So I replaced the Master Clutch cylinder, shortly after that started having problems with the transmission. That about sums it up.

A GM dealer wasn't a consideration?
