i have a 1995 grand am gt, and there is a small leak somewhere behind my clutch pedal, whenever it rains or i wash my car it comes in and makes my carpet wet overtime. i've tried spraying the area with some rubberized leak sealant(i guess that's what you would call it), but it didn't stop.

i doubt this is a common problem but if anyone has had a similar problem and fixed it, please enlighten me on how to fix it!

thanks!

did you try soaking the windshield to see if that is the cause

We used to own a 91 many many moons ago before the buffalo disappeared... it leaked from the windshield by the driver's visor. Friend of ours had a 94, it leaked from the windshield down near the dash on the driver's side. Only two occurrences, but that's all GA's I've known.

thanks for the suggestions, i'll look into that.

i have a few more questions so i'll just ask them here instead of making a new topic:

1. is there anyway i can configure the wiring so that only my fog lights are on while my car is on? (they come on when i turn on the parking lights, but so do that brake lights, i just want the fog lights on, nothing else.)

2. i want to do some modifications to my grand am, one of them being deleting the muffler and resonator, i planned to just do one straight pipe back, my question is: do you guys have any videos of straight piped 4 cyl grand am's?

3. i want to lower my car, i'd like to have it with no wheel gap, but i don't honestly think that's possible. i can't find any coilovers for sale for my car, nor do i want to get custom ones made. lowering springs are an option, but they aren't going to acheive the drop i am looking for, any suggestions?

and the final question is:

4. i want to paint my wheels black, what is so good paint that i can just spray on? i have the 16" alloys. and also, does anyone have any pictures of grand am's with black wheels? thanks!

1.) Couldn't find an electrical drawing, but a simple way would be to feed the fog lights off of the same source as the turn signal fuse. I'd suggest fusing it, or prior to the turn fuse and/or using a relay since your turn signal is essential and the fogs are generally more of a bling to the car.

2.) I don't, and you might want to see how legal that would be in your state.

3.) Zero gap generally requires further modification other than just lowering the car, and each car and generation will be a little different. I'd suggest in trying to find someone who's done it on a 2001 Grand Am (or GM equivalent) rather than chewing tires while trying to get it right.

4.) Not sure where you're going here, do they have white lettering or side walls? My experience with paint is that when you've finally gotten enough coverage for the black to hide the white, the black peels and it looks more ridiculous than if you hadn't done it at all. Check the other side of the tire, if it's black, have the tires reversed at a tire shop. If it's the deeper shinier look you want, Armour All, McGuire's, and several other companies have products to make the tires look pretty.

Well, i still need to lower it, but here she is as she sits. I mainly bought this car because it was a 5 speed and i'm working with what i've got.

Oh and the front end will be painted soon. The white is only temporary.

and also, i just decided to chop off the muffler and replace it with straight pipe. I'll get a video up on it soon. I personally love the sound, but I can't say the same for my neighbors! :D

here's a picture of how she sits:

i know she isn't the prettiest, but she's mine. the main/only reason i bought this car was because it's a 5 speed. so worth it just because of that alone! still need to lower, should be done right after christmas!
