I've had this car for a little over 9 years, pretty decent exterior and interior, but recently water pump and power steering went out around 106k miles. Estimated repairs for both were over $800 - does that sound right. TMV of the car is only around 2k. It needs new tires, power seat wont work (although I can hear the motor trying) and passenger window is off track, needs replacing, a few hundred to fix. I was looking into buying a newer used car with less problems, should I just sell this on craigslist for 1k, and get something for about 5500? or is it worth investing in these repairs? engine/transition seem to be in good working order.

as time goes by you will be sinking more and more money into a car that is worth less and less. get rid of it and get another one

Say you sell it, and get another car for $5500. You've still got a fairly old car that will soon be only worth $1000 in a few years. If you put $4500 into your car, where will it be?

BTW, the water pump is super easy to replace, and cheap too. If you have the V6, anyway. I don't know about the 4 cylinder. The PS pump won't be as easy, but it wouldn't be too hard either since it's up top (on the V6... don't know about the 4 cyl.).
