I'm trying to take out a plug that is right next to the distributor on the back of the engine. It has a square shape it looks like a regular extension socket for a ratchet would fit in there but it won't. If anybody could tell me what I should do please let me know.

I have a 1971 Pontiac LeMans sport with a 1975 350 4 barrel engine.

sears sells square plug sockets
why are you trying to remove it?

Put a oil pressure gauge adapter where that plug is. Is there a specific size square for that plug?

The link you posted was not found. Yeah I didn't care for it. It just seem a pain to do. I appreciate the info though. I found some square plug sockets but they are in millimeter. Are they supposed to be in millimeter?

Unless the millimeter converts directly to a US standard size they did not use millimeter sizes on US cars in 1971. Google for Pipe Plug Socket.
