Need some help. 1968 Pontiac Lemans. I have taken out the old automatic transmission and installed a muncie 4 speed. all linkages are hooked up and working. But, I do not know where or how to wire the neutral safety swith with the manual transmission. Also need some guidance on the backup lights when put into reverse. Thanks . . .JIMB

the neutral safety switch from the automatic would not be used. You are supposed to have a switch on the clutch pedal that serves the same function.

What year were safety switches installed on the clutch? I remember being able to move the car in gear with the starter.

My 80 Saginaw had the reverse light switch built right into the trans.

My 80 Monza had the clutch switch, a bracket can be fabbed to use it.

It ran off the pedal just like the brake light switch which may work by using another brake light switch for your Lemans.
