Hello everyone. I just picked up a 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport for my wife. She's always wanted a classic convertible and now she has it. She took it for a ride and had to have it. So, now we own it and I'm pretty excited too.
A little about the car: as stated above it's a '71 Lemans Sport. It doesn't have the original motor. It's sitting in my garage holding on to a 402 Chevy big block. The transmission is original however - it's a 350 turbo. I believe there were a little over 3800 made that year and I think ours is number 355 off the line. Based on the limited research I've done I believe it has something called a Ventura Sprint package. I'm basing this on the fact that it's an automatic with the shift on the floor. I could be all wrong about that.
I'm a member of both a Harley forum and Ford forum because I have a problem with getting something and then trying to absorb all the info I can. That's why I'm joining this forum. I want to learn all I can about this car, things I can do with it and history. I like to work on things myself and learning to do these things from real people with real experiences is the best way. So, I look forward to reading your thoughts and picking your brains about different things.
Thanks!
