Afternoon everyone ,
I’m Tom , just signed on here about a minute ago. Tryin something new with a question I’ve had for a long time.
Thought this might be a good place to maybe find an answer. Back in 1998 , I got my 70 Lemans Sport, found her in an Auto Locator magazine here in Pennsylvania.
Very nice driver quality back then but I wanted more. So in ‘99 , we tore it apart for what I thought would be a modest restoration. Well .. it turned out to be NOS quarters. Rear filler panel, new vinyl top , interior work , engine compartment , you know the drill.
Like I said. 70 Lemans Sport 2dr HT. I have the PHS packet with the production numbers but they’re very general . Something like 50,000 built.
I was wondering if anyone out there might have an idea on a breakdown for options.
My Lemans is a 350 , factory hurst 4speed . The numbers match as far as I can see.
323 rear gear, safety trac. In-dash tach. It’s an AC car although the parts to blow cold were in the trunk. Factory dual exhaust. 15 inch wheels, not the rally 2’s.
I’ve owned it for 27 years, been to cruise nights, car shows all over the place. And I’ve yet to see another, factory floor shifted hurst 4speed. I know it’s not a 1 of 1 car but I can’t help thinking, there might not be too many like it. If anyone has information, I’d be happy to hear from you. I’m not looking to sell her. Been with me too long.
Just trying to find out what it is.

Palomino Copper , light saddle interior.
Rear Rally’s are 15 X 10. Fronts are 15X7. added by a previous owner. I added the sport mirrors, it had terrible, parts store chrome ones on it when I found it. I also added the exhaust cutout valance with the splitters. But that’s all I’m going to change.
I would like to keep it looking period accurate. So… that’s our story. Thanks for checking out my 70. Tom.
