Hi Everyone
I just purchased a 2005 Pontiac Montana with 214, 000 km on it (not sure what that is in miles). I got it for a great price and over all it is a great running vehicle. As with most used vehicles there are a few quirks. The first is the driver side windshield wiper only goes about half way through its cycle and bangs into and gets jammed up with passenger side windshield wiper. The bolt is some what stripped where the arm conects to the mechanism and loosens up and won't even rotate the arm at all until you tighten the nut back down. just curious if that one part would cause it not to cycle and match up properly with passenger side or if that is also part of the motor transmission possibly failing. The engine light is on but I'll check that when I get hold if my buddies obd 2 scanner. Lastly I'm not sure if this is a problem but after I start the vehicle the oil light with the little wrench below it shows up for about 2 min than goes away. Thanks in advance for the help.

The engine oil is full that light in Canada means change engine oil, america gets the words change engine oil, canada gets a pretty picture lol. Common gm were honestly not that simple. Guess its oil change time than. Even with the nut tight on the wiper arm, it only cycles half way and gets mangled with the passenger side. One more thing the display along with number buttons on the radio won't light up. Everything else lights up fine, is the radio display and those 8 our so buttons on their own fuse?

Guess I should have looked at the book myself! The electrical section of the manual shows fuses for the radio but if the radio works and it's just the lighting of the radio it's probably a burnt out bulb.

That's what I was thinking, any idea how hard it would be to change the bulb?

Thanks for the help hopefully I can get it in the shop tomorrow to get the windshield wipers fixed.

So I ended up fixing the wipers today, and all I can say is thank God for salvage yards. Ended up the spline on the drivers side was striped, and the wiper arm was completely smooth inside. Before calling anyone I took out the drivers side spline assembly thinking they got to sell this part. Nope they only sell the entire wiper assembly minus the motor for $325 + tax and the new wiper arm would have been an additional $60 + tax from the stealership. So I gave a local salvage yard a call and they had the entire assembly with motor and a wiper arm for me for $125. She's all fixed now and I got a tone of spare parts for the wiper system if anything else decides to fail on me. Like I said thank God for salvage yards. :)
