My name is Ron and I am from Connecticut. I have been into Pontiacs since I was 18 years old. Except for a 71 Lemans sport, all my other cars have been 2nd and 3rd gen Firebirds. I my present car is a metalime green 1976 Firebird Esprit. Besides boasting it's original color( that will get an eventual bare metal strip and factory color repaint), the interior is also a rare white deluxe vinyl with black accents. I am building a sleeper trying to keep the exterior and interior as stock looking as possible. I have been on quite a few other forums for a while now and just came upon this forum and decided to join it. I have rebuilt; restored or modified everything on my car. This car as it sits now is the best handling and looking 2nd Gen I have ever owned. I tried to use the best parts and materials I could come across. If you guy's have an area for build threads, I will post mine.
- new TRW coil springs; new ball joints; stripped and restored spindles, new wheel bearings
- New Eaton leaf springs with OER shackles and mounting kit
- New rubber OEM control arm bushings
- Restored front end- new Moog tie rod ends; stripped and repainted centerlink
- Rebuilt close ratio steering gear from Napa
- stripped and restored entire undercarriage
- welded in a goodmark tail panel; donor crossrail, donor frame rail rear sections; donor trunk extensions; donor rear quarter extensions; patched 3 small areas on floor- Rear of the rear wheels the car was a mess and had several inches of years old caked on mud that I had to chisel off in spots. The rest of the car surprisingly was in great shape!
- New fuel tank; original sending unit in great shape
- New calipers, wheel cylinders, brake hardware, front and rear rubber lines, rebuilt master cylinder; new stainless lines over differential
- Protouringfbody's solid body bushings in stock orientation; GenII sub frame connectors welded in the rear/ bolted and tack welded in the front for easy sub frame removal if needed.
- Bilstein HD shocks on all four corners
- Interior is 85% original including headliner and seats- Used SEM on some panels and refurbished seat tracks. Dash is all original and in mint condition
- SBC 350 conversion; 700r4 conversion with functioning 2100 lock up convertor
- Ws6 1 3/16th inch front sway bar; 5/8th inch rear sway bar; both with Energy Poly bushings
