Hello all. I just purchases a 1999 Sunfire GT to get me to and from work since my 2000 Rodeo seized up on the trip from WA to GA. I knew going in that the driver side window didn't work (assumed to be bad motor) and the A/C needed to be recharged (rebuilt engine never charged upon installation). My initial inspection revealed that the two front tires also needed to be replaced and some of the lights were continuously on on the cluster (ABS, ETS OFF, Air Bag, Seatbelt, and High Beams). The gentleman I purchased the car from had an OBD tool and showed me that there were no codes stored in the memory and I figured it was just some kind of short somewhere. I was able to talk them down in price a bit to cover known expenses. The drive home revealed that the passenger side window was also malfunctioning, the radio didn't work and the trip counter button didn't work (don't ask me why I didn't try them out on the test drive, I'm still wondering that myself). I popped open the fuse panel to do some initial checks and had to rearrange all the fuses to be in accordance with the Owner's Manual, since the Fuse Panel picture didn't match up. I also removed a super thick wire that was tied in to the windshield wiper 25A fuse and ran to the negative terminal on the battery. It was here I noticed that there was a connector that wasn't plugged in, but is receptacle wasn't readily apparent. The only thing that did was remove the High Beam light (doesn't come on at all now) and put the Check Engine light on in its place. I also checked the fuses under the hood and everything seemed to be in the right place, but wrong amperage for some items. So, long story short, it looks like I'll be replacing both power window motors. I am hoping those that have gone before me can give me some tips on that one. In addition, I would love to hear any ideas about the electrical issues, since I am definitely not an expert there. Thanks for reading guys.
