1984 Pontiac Fiero 2M4 that my brother owned and barely drove. He bought it for $500 from some college kid in Duluth. It's a pretty stripped-down model with no goodies except air conditioning and a radio. Power nothing, automatic, and there is a hole in the rear trunk area (not too worried about it). The only MAJOR thing wrong was that the suspension was kinda messed up. My dad put about $1000 into it this past month with new tires and now he bought a Saturn 5-speed for my brother. I asked if I could give dad back the Dynasty and start driving this and he said if I give him $800, I can have it. I'll have to get it after I get back from the Power Tour, but I'm pretty excited! Should be a decent daily!
Basically I'm wondering if this car would be worth $800 and how hard would it be to do a manual transmission swap? I know these Iron Dukes with an auto don't get the amazing fuel mileage that the manual trans cars do. Also, are there replacement trunk parts so I could get a new piece welded in there so I don't have a massive hole in it? Any other questions, I'll be sure to speak up. Thanks!
