• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hello people... about a two monthes ago I purchased a 1979 Chevy( i know... I know...) short box. The good part is that I what is under the hood... which is a 1977 Pontiac 400 from a trans am.... Well so far I have blown a head gasket.. had to replace the waterpump and alternator... and a host of small things.... It has a decent size cam and high compression pistons, elderbrock preformer intake and a 700cfm carb, plus headers and duel 2.5'' flowmaster exhaust.... The bad part is she has been down the last week and is in need of work.... I have many questions because this is the first car that I have tried to work on myself and it seems like the more that I try to fix things the more that stuff goes wrong... but I heard that is how it goes when you are learning. I will have some pics up in the near future and would love to reciecve any advice or thoughts from other people that know about this engine... Thanks for you time..
