Hi Folks. Why won't my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am start in wet weather? It will not crank in this condition and usually none of the electronics will work at all. I can only get it to start when I disconnect the positive terminal of the battery then try to crank it while still disconnected, THEN hook the battery back up and crank it (trying to crank it while the battery is disconnected is required for this trick to work). Any ideas which component is the soggy culprit?

Thanks,
SS

I would check the battery connections at the ground and at the starter. In addition check the engine fuse box and it's relays for signs of corrosion.

I would like to see a pic of this stick procedure.I think GM would want to add it to the service manual.
