Okay, new to this Fiero thread but not the cars (or so I thought). In need of some help.

Have 1986 Fiero 2m6 with 190xxx on the clock. The trouble is I have 2.8 V6 with no spark.

the list of new parts include....

plugs
wires
cap
rotor
coil - new and tested
pickup coil - new and tested
ignition module

What else do I have left? Other question is I have power coming into the coil on one side. Is that right? or do both wires need to be powered?

Any ideas would be nice - fuseable link? ECM between the seats? Just lost and out of ideas.

Thanks
and will keep looking at older threads.

According to what I am finding on line - 2.8 V6 in that year don't have cam or crank sensors - can't even find them online at various auto stores.

yeah sorry about that..totally forgot what ride kinda ride we are talking about..but yes, none of those on this car..did you check all fuses and relays?

ignition switch?

Had the distributor apart to change the pickup coil which was bad - what kid of test would you do to it?

ignition switch?? car cranks, radio turns on, dash light come on, fuel pump pressures up - controls spark (how)?

I have power to the coil and going to the ignition module (both wires from the coil are hot) tried to short the coil and/or jump the spark to ground - no luck.

Now this is cool - I have spark and the car runs just fine if I take 2 good sized magnets and put them on the cap.

Looks like the magnets died for the distributor.

Thanks for the help...

good to hear..next time, hope to god there not..just replace the whole darn distributor..you pretty much did already lol take care

over 7 years ago, really!
