Hello-
My real name is Brian and to be honest, I'm a Ford man. [DON'T SPEAR ME!
] But, my little sister drives a '92 Grand Am that just quit on her yesterday w/out warning. I consider myself to be a decent backyard mechanic but GM systems are foreign to me, but here's what I've got-
The engine turns over just fine but there's no spark. I'm positive of this as since I couldn't find a good place to check against ground, I just grabbed a hold of 3 different plug wires and not one of them zapped me.
There's power to the coil packs, and the resistance readings on each pack were pretty close to each other so I'm assuming those are okay.
I have a friend that has a code reader/scanner for this car that he will let me borrow, but I don't have any idea where to find the OBD plug at. I didn't see it under the hood, so would it be under the dash near the steering column?
Thanks so much for the advice, and tolerating a Ford man on your forums.
