Alright, so i'm driving down the road and the car quits. will not restart, can't figure it out. We see that the distributor is loose. So we move it around hoping to get the car to start. We then take out a spark plug and ground it, there is no spark. So we checked the power wire going into the distributor and it reads 12 volts. What should i check in the distributor and how can i check it?

If it is an HEI get rid of it! But if it is, the ignition module probably went out. Everybody loves HEIs but I hate them with a passion! Because of the modules going out without warning and whenever I use one the engine runs like crap! I rather run points. Infact one of the mags did a test between points, HEI, and MSD ignitions and the points made more power than the HEI. My favorite aftermarket system is the Accel 300+ system. I have one on my 400 Pontiac that would barely run with the HEI. I have used Mallory Unilite with their coil and box and it works very well but I still like that Accel setup better. It rocks!:D
