Noisy lifters?

Got my 5th equinox/torrent with bad headgaskets. Previous 4 purred like kitten after job. The 5th one I did this past weekend rattled like a mofo. After 1/2 hr it seemed to quiet down. I drove it 3 weeks ago for 1/2 hr. Ran fine. Started it on sat after work and rattle city. None of the other ones made noise. Sitting for 2 weeks should not affect the lifters that way. Maybe it’s just worn more? Who knows.

Pretty obvious question but you checked oil level?
 
Yes oil level is ok. (Edit) drove it this evening. as quiet as can be expected. I flushed heater core too and a bunch of crud came out. Seemed a little blocked up at first. After a bit clear water was flowing. Have super heat now. seems every equinox I do I have to flush heater core. I remove hose from tee assy at upper rear of motor and I notice it pushes water into the surge tank. So, I’m a bit high. Only have water in system now. So I’ll do coolant soon enough.

Old seat. New seat. Bit of scuffing in middle. But, $10 ain’t bad.
I took off old seat cover and am not 100% sure I could swap old cover to new. There are plastic ribs in middle of cushion that are clipped in somehow. I’d worry seating surface might pucker up if I mess around.

Just got done with #6 Today. Or is it #7?
Oil looked like milkshake When I got it a few weeks ago.
drove it around today for 1 hr. Job was ok.
purrs like a kitten.
made zero rattle on start.
I guess each motor is different.
but, it has 124k miles.

Found an 09 w/175k but seller wants $1200. Has newer Michelin defenders. Isn’t that a discontinued tire? He has lousy seller reviews on FB too.
 
Did find an 08 equinox sport w/3.6, needs chains. Has new tires. 100mi. Seller is down to $650. Ugh, pos 3.6
