So I have the ELM 327...worked so far in the 5 vehicles I've used it in. I have googled the shit out of this but cant find why my scanner wont work on this 2001 sunfire other than, most only read 99 or 02 and up sunfires...has anyone had this prob? I put the scanner back on the 350 ford to make sure its working and it does. So its not the scanner or program. I haven't tried diff protocols for connecting to the ECU yet but, i'm just being lazy and looking for an easy answer. I have a check engine light and pretty sure its just a sensor(trannys slipping from 2nd to 3rd..sometimes 1st to second so I suspect a tranny(speed) sensor or cam sensor) but would like to know for sure which one....then again for price I could replace both its just how much of a bitch is it to get to either of them....they were a pain to get at in my Yukon. Regardless, less pain for me, happier camper I am

if you are getting a no connection error check the cigarette lighter fuse, for reasons only known to GM the OBDII port uses the same power circuit.
