Yet another problem, when we bought the car back in March the OP Gauge was not working and is stuck. It stays the same whether cold, warm, reving, driving, idling, or anything. It is on the same thing 24/7.

What would be the problem and what is there to do to resolve this problem?
Its the 301 turbo.

You have to determine whether it is the gauge or the sender. Try replacing the sender first.

can't you just ground the sending unit and that should move the gauge. I know this type of test worked on my temp gauge on my older gm's(77 monte carlo) . Take the middle wire or middle stud and ground it with the key in the run position and you should get some kind of movement.

IF it is not the sending unit, how hard is it to take the gauges out, or would it make more sense to get the 2 gauge cluster that I could put between the dash and console. That would be for Oil pressure, and temperature. I would feel more comfortable with the other new gauges incase of the originals not working after a while and ending up not letting me know of something that is wrong. What other gauges would be recommended. It already has factory tach.

Well that is a personal choice of what gauges u want. I am not to familiar with that car but u may have also an indicator light that would light up also in case of no oil pressure besides the gauge. One thing tp think about if your going to rip apart the dash to fix the gauge is u might as well replace all the dash lights while in there. Maybe led ?

I would like to keep everything stock, OTHER than what I can easily reverse. I know people will run the volts gauge in a 3 gauge cluster as well, but really to me it does not matter. I guess one that may be good for me to have would be a cylinder head temp, in case of any detonation, heads as far as I know skyrocket in temperature. I`m having a built 400 being put in, with high compression.
