Oil reminder light

I have an 07 torrent and kid has an 08 equinox.
I used dash controls to reset oil life to 100%
but did not use gas pedal 3 pump method.
do you have to use both?

5-19 in manual says to press gas pedal 3 times. In addition to resetting oil life monitor to 100%?

I’ll use gas pedal method too. maybe orange wrench will not illuminate? We‘ll see.

The instructions on that page mention nothing about percent only the light.
Where in the owners manual does it show resetting percentage to 100?
