Oil sender switch

Hey y'all. I am inquiring about the size of the engine oil sensor. I used a 1-1/16 size socket with the car jacked up and unplugged negtive cable. Do I have the wrong size socket?

Web says 1 inch or 1 1/16, try ViceGrips if neither one works, they usually are not too tight.
