well i currently have a grand prix but i think its time to move on to a different pontiac production.

i was thinking of getting this nice 2004 pontiac grand am with ram-air with 106,000 miles with a 3.4 engine, i had a 1999 grand am with a 3.4 before and it maxed out at i think it was 125 or 130 stock.

i was wondering if a grand am could handle 30MPH more with a performance chip, speed governer removal and maybe a couple of other tweaks

i seen many honda civic 4 cyls hit 160 almost stock so i was thinking why can a 3.4 V6 hit that

i would like to get atleast 150mph out of it

the reason i am deciding of buying a grand am is because it does have a better design then grand prix in my opinion its more of a racing design

i would be using the car for normal use and maybe some dragging on the track in cave-run

i have seen a friend with a grand am im un aware of the year but it was in the same body style of 1999 like i had he had his running with a supercharger, performance chip and i think a 100 wet shot of nos and he still drive it to this day.

i really want to stick to pontiac brand and the grand am i found is selling for 4500

in your honest opinion if its well maintained can a 2004 grand am 3.4 ramair handle 150 to 160 max or maybe atleast 145

Grand Am's are good cars, and if properly cared for should hold up well. You can get a PCM tune from Milzy Motorsports and a few other places to eliminate the rev limiter and other tweaks.

if i buy the car i was gonna do all the performance my self but i was going to send the computer in to have the speed governer removed isint that the same thing as the rev limiter???
it costs about $100 to send it in

anyways the grand am only has 106,000 miles so its engine/transmission are pretty good and are almost like new and there is absolutely no rust no pain wear no interior tear it looks like the car is brand new and its selling for a very fare price of $4500

of course i would want to test-drive it and make sure it runs smoothly before i purchase it and check for leaks/knocks/etc
