Hey guys i know its been awhile but i had this weird thing happen today with my car. In like 20 minutes was on the 4th notch from overheating also i had no heat. Stuck thermostat?? i let it sit for 10 minute and opened the the reservoir and it steamed out the and gushed out of the top hose. I put more coolant in it and it ran just fine no overheating and i had heat.

also what are sign of a leaking head/intake gasket/ both internal and external??

Thanks

You had large amounts of air in the cooling system which caused the overheating and the lack of heat. You should do a cooling system pressure test to see if you have a leak. External head gasket leak you loose coolant and see the coolant on the exterior of the engine or on the ground. Internal you might get large clouds of white smoke and if it mixes with the oil you see a creamy/brownish substance in the oil filler cap. You can also do a hydrocarbon test of the coolant to test for the head gasket leak.
