99 Grand Am SE 3.4L engine is displaying a P0700 on my OBD reader. Code indicates a problem related to the transmission control module but I don't see any reference to this part for the 99 Grand Am. Car was driving fine and just suddenly stopped moving forward. Transmission fluid is fine and engine runs fine. Car will move in reverse but will only creep forward in Drive, 3rd, 2nd, and first gear. Has anyone experienced anything like this.

Unfortunately it does not. Not that it would do any good if it did as every search I've performed for either TCM or Transmission Control Module on a 99 Grand Am has returned zero results. I know a few people who have OBD readers and one of them may have a reader that works with the TCM but I'm at a loss as to where I would find the TCM on this car.

did you look behind the dash next to the ECM? Again not sure why knowing where it is located is going to help you read the codes stored in it.

Well I'm hoping I can either rent or borrow a reader that can read the TCM. But it makes no sense to even try getting one if I can't locate the module. If I can read the codes it may help in determining whether to put money into fixing this or whether its time for this car to hit the scrap heap. Still love a good challenge and if the problem points to something I can tackle myself or is relatively inexpensive, well then I may hold onto it.
