Ok here is what I got. Engine stalls at times, no specific situation. Car restarts right of way. The check engine light comes on along with the ETC light. I have a scan tool (cheapo), my friend has a Snap On scan tool. Both pull a P1887 TCC code. I know it is a Tcc switch in the tranny, however, this car uses fuel like a 460. I drove one day 20 miles maybe and it used a little over a 1/4 of a tank of fuel. I am not a speeder. I drive like a grandpa. Any wisdom anyone wants to share? R and R the tranny is a big job for me. I am a novice when it comes to R and R ing an engine or tranny. I was thinking the fuel issue was a Fuel Pressure Regulator. I had a bronco II that did the same thing once and it was the FPR.
Thanks,
Isaac

If your torque converter clutch is not functioning properly your engine will be running at higher RPM's than normal thus your gas mileage will suffer.
