Hello again guys. The new question that is bothering me is that I will be pulling the body off the frame and not quite sure about the method of stripping the paint from the body. Sand generates too much heat and distorts the metal. That leaves me with soda blasting with the need to neutralize after blasting and having to deal with weepage from the joints for some time. Now we move on to media(plastic and what-not) or my personal favorite pecan shells. I need to get some advice from someone who has done this-Thanks

assuming you dont intend to do this yourself have you spoken to any body shops that provide this service?

I can't seem to find anyone locally who has any experience with this type of job. I have spoken to a half-dozen sandblasters(no help) and several custom shops that do high end paint work and they seem to favor the labor intensive chemical strip(ie $$$$$) . The articles I have read in hemmings etc. are all from the mid west to east coast. One of those articles spoke of a mobile unit that came to one guys house and did the job. Once I have the body on the rotissere I don't think it's going to travel well via trailer. So, what do you think?

sounds like you have answered your own question, only choice appears to be chemical unless you find someone who will
come to you
