I have a 2001 Firebird. The car has a noise coming from the engine which I have been told is piston slap. Something to do with a coating G.M. used on the piston walls that has worn off. The car has 125000. miles on it,it is a convertible and only driven in nice weather for small day trips. Is there a solution to remedy this problem other then a major overhaul. The noise doesn't seem to affect the overall drivability, or power of the engine, but any noise bothers me.
