Hey everyone. I would greatly appreciate any assistance I can receive on this issue:

I have a 2003 Montana which has given us many problems since we bought it back in 2007.

I will try to provide all information as best as possible.

Starting about 1 month ago, while at a red light and in drive, my wife and I starting to hear a noise coming from the dash which could only be described as a gurgling or popping sound. As soon as I remove my foot from the brake and began accelerating it went away. I should also note the engine was warmed at the time. Since that day it has begun to get worse (noise is getting louder). If I am at a red light and switch to neutral, the sound goes away. If I switch to reverse, the sound goes away. We are starting to hear the sound even when accelerating (although it is very faint). The sound can also be heard from outside the vehicle. Tranny fluids are good.

Does anyone have any ideas of what this could be?

I should also note that it shifts through the gears no problem at all. No slipping or hard shifting.

When is the last time you changed the transmission fluid and filter?

I had a tranny service done about 6 months ago. However, I should note, I believe they flushed the filter instead of replacing it.

Thanks for the help.

You cannt flush a filter. Have the proper service done, filter and fluid and never flush.

So replace 100% of the tranny fluid and the filter? Does this sound like a problem associated with bad fluid or clogged filter?

You drop the pan and replace the filter and fluid. Some fluid will remain in lines or convertor but minimal. Hard to tell since without tracking down the source of the noise must rely on your description but could be filter restriction.

Also, it'll give you a chance to look at the bottom of the an for debris. I'd also check the receipt for the flush, if the filter wasn't replaced, it's almost like asking for the transmission to fail.
