Please Help!! 2000 pontiac sunfire

so i have a 2000 pontiac sunfire 2 door coupe. Just recently about 2 days ago there was this weird rattling noise kinda like cans clanging together and when i would start the car up it would hesitate. after about a day my check engine light came on. So i took it to pepboys where they diagnosed the problem to be a bad catalictic converter. Ok so all is good now and the problem was fixed as they told me. So its been 2 days later i went tonight to get gas and once i started the car up it hesitated and the rattling noise came back!!! I paid over 800 bucks to get this fixed! there has to be another reason why this is happening! Please if anyone can help me please post back soon! Im new to this forum by the way. thanks!!

Why arent you going back to the shop you paid the $800 to and ask them why you still have the problem? The rattling could be a timing chain about to go.
