Hi

Is anyone aware of camshaft/ camshaft bearing issues on the Pontiac 455 blocks ? As they make oversize bearings I assume they have been known to fail ?

Any thoughts or knowledge on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

You are the first person to mention this in this forum.
Why would a 455 have an issue and not a 400 or 350?
Just went to Summit Racing looked up cam bearings, they only show one size.

I mention 455 as that’s the block I have. DuraBond do oversized bearings for the pontiacs so assume 350,400 and 455. My point is are there any known common issues with bearings picking up hence the oversized ones are manufactured?
Thanks

I just download their catalog. They make oversized bearings for every GM brand, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and all engine sizes.
