Can I afford this car?
I've never bought my own car before.
I've always been spoiled with new ones.
I make 28k-34k a year (sometimes I work 2 days out of the week sometimes 4 days). I make $20/hr salary 12 hour shifts. No bills. I don't even pay for gasoline or food. (Yes spoiled I know.) I have $1000 saved up for the car and another $1000 just in savings. (Started working 2 months ago and been spending ever since lol). I have a 2004 grand prix gt2 I want to trade in. I don't think im upside down. My parents normally pay more than they need to. Can I afford a $34,000 G8 GT ? And how much would insurance go up on a 21 year old driver with a history of speeding (most tickets removed via defensive driving). Any serious answer would be of great help! I don't want to ask my dad to finance me if it's a stupid idea. Thanks for reading !
