I have a 1999 Pontiac grand am SE. The CHANGE OIL SOON light came on a couple days ago, so I changed the oil. Used 10w30. The CHANGE OIL light is still on. How do I make it go off? Is there a way to reset it?

i have a 2000 pontiac grand am and it does the same thing. Open the drivers side door and on that side of the dashboard there should be a plastic cover covering the fuses pop that open and theres a red reset button i think the car has to be on but not running, but hold the red button n the light should click off in a few seconds

if you still have your owners manual give a quick glance to oil change or instrument cluster ...some of the newer gm vehicle have a reset code built in..for instance turn the car to the on position but dont start it and pump your gas pedal 8 times and the car will clear the code by itself..you may have to do this several times to get it just right but the light will go off as soon as you find the right rythm
