I have a '98 Sunfire that suddenly decided it will not start. I've been repairing the front end over the past few months from a small fender bender (all cosmetic) in my free time and up until the past few weeks it has cranked up just fine. I've got a pretty new battery in it & had it recharged just in case, but even with a fresh charge or trying to jump start it it will not crank.

Suddenly for no reason that I can tell the engine will not crank up. It'll turn but not fire up. Every now and then it will start to crank then it stalls/chokes out. If I try to crank it after that it will not even do that again. If I go out the next day and try to crank it it will stall/choke out again.

I have not tried to crank it in a few days so I went out a few minutes ago and it cranked just fine... not a problem. So I let it run a minute then turn it off. Then when I try to crank it again it does the same thing it's been doing... engine turns but will not fire up enough to stall out again.

Any ideas what the problem is and a solution? I've already repaired this thing myself so I'd prefer to not go to a mechanic until all other options are exhausted.

I'm thinking about just replacing all the spark plugs, distributor cap & cables and going from there but any input would be appreciated.
