I've come back to the forum after a rather long time not reading anything and read over an old thread that I started about the sound quality in my Torrent with the premium sound installed.

This thread:

Reading the thread got me to thinking...

On my aftermarket head unit, there is the ability to control the subwoofer volume directly. However, changing this setting has absolutely no effect on the sound coming from my system. Would this indicate that my sub is hooked up incorrectly? And if it does, are there wiring diagrams available on the net to show which wire leads to the sub?

I found the wiring guide to my head unit here (JVC HRD 720):

Did you follow the instructions in Step B, top two go to subwoofers?

I didn't install it, Best Buy did; about 3 years ago. So I would assume the time to ask them to try again has passed, and I'm not sure what they wiring looks like in my vehicle

What I'd like to know is if the stock wiring included separate wiring for the subwoofers from the old head unit. If so, any wiring diagram that someone could point me to would be great, as I am unable to find any that specifically apply to those Torrents (and I would assume Equinoxes) that came equipped with the 6-disc changer and the 7 speaker system. If the separate wiring does exist, hooking it up to the subwoofer output is a task I can take on. However, I want to make sure that the subwoofer wiring is separate from the speaker wiring before I tear my dash apart.
