I raised this one from the dead over the winter. It sat for seven years with tarps and rugs thrown over it. I found it, sprayed the cylinders with fogging oil, dumped gas in the carb and jumped it. It fired off almost immediately.
Good eye. I have. It has a full UMI tubular suspension, Monte SS steering box, Summit sport springs, HEI, and a one wire alternator. It looked pretty poorly when i brought it home. The clear coat had failed. The wheels are Vision Torque Gunmetal. It's a 65k mile and is other than what's mentioned stock.
It did not look very good.
The tires were shot and dry rotted. It had drums all the way around and now it has discs up front. The fuel tank and rear bumper were removed. The right hood hinge was broken. It was a mess. My son and nephews helped me scrape the clear off the car with razor blades as it was coming off in sheets. We blew Summit Hot Rod White paint on the body and I whipped up a textured black for the hood.
I will never understand painting over chrome.
To me, that's one of the best features of these cars.
I even prefer the chrome bumpers to the GTO nose.
Just looks much better to my eye.
