Don't listen to those clowns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First off, why in the heck would you throw money at it & replace parts you don't have to????????????
Some of these people on here have as much sense as a dull penny.
First, operate the window with the switch, listen for any noises like a grinding type noise. Most of the time, the cable rollers break & the cable gets twisted on the motor.
Also, the easiest way to check your switch is this-----------make sure your overhead dome light is working, this is easier if it is dark outside. Start the car, make sure your overhead dome light is on, operate the switch to the inop window. Closely watch the overhead light for changes in brightness. If it dims when you try to roll window up/down, you know your window switch is good.
The problem is in the motor. If it doesn't dim, then it is either switch or your not getting power or ground to the switch.
Sometimes with the switch in the down position, smack the door panel with your hand or slam the door with a little force. Sometimes your window motor will start working but it usually is only for a little while.
If it is your window motor, I bought mine from O'Reillys Auto Part store which came with the regulator & motor asy which is the only way I will buy them since they both fail very often.
No they are not rivet to the vehicle, they are held on with 10mm bolts.
