I found that my 2001, 3.4 grand am had bosch part#7978 plugs installed with a gap of .5o. The recommended plug is bosch part#7980 with a gap of.60.
The ENGINE would bog down at 1500 RPM. Would these wrong plugs cause the above problem. I have not bought new plugs yet.
 
That's a copper core plug, and is not really recommended for these cars. These car have a waste spark ignition system, and perform best with Iridium plugs. The recommended plugs are NGK 5599, Denso 5325, Bosch 9653, AC Delco 41-101. The NGK and Delco are the most popular of the bunch, and are what comes in the car from the factory. (NGK makes these for GM)
