the car won't turn on? My son has a Pontiac Sunfire 2002 he just bought in March. My husband's car is in the shop, so he borrowed my son's car, and messed it up somehow. When you turn on the car, the anti theft device keeps coming on, and the car won't start. We've tried letting it sit for 20 minutes, keeping the key turned on for 10 minutes, shutting it off and restarting it, disconnecting the battery for an hour, and locking the doors and unlocking the car, all advice found online or given to us by a dealer. My son and husband took the car up to where he bought it Thursday, but the owner of the dealership says this is not covered under his warranty, which is still good. (Apparently, NOTHING is covered, two days after he brought it home the water pump went and he was told, "It wasn't covered" and he had to have it replaced and pay for the labor.) Does anyone know how to disable the darn anti theft device so the car will start all the time so we won't get stuck anywhere again?

theres got to be a fuse in the fuse box that will disengage the alarm completely and keep it from going off or using it. this has happened to me before and thats what i did. but i have a different car. i hope that works because i definately know how annoying it can be. if i find anymore info, ill write you back again.
