I have a damaged rubber boot on the propeller shaft on my 2003 Aztek AWD. This is the shaft between the transfer case and the torque tube. GM does not sell the rubber boot separately, only the entire propeller shaft for $750. Does anyone know where I can buy just the exact replacement rubber boot? I would rather not try a 'universal fit' replacement. Also, has anyone attempted this repair? It appears to be easy to remove the propeller shaft, I'm just not sure if it is possible to remove the CV joint from the end of the shaft so that the boot can be replaced.
