Hi All,

I've just recently bought a 2006 Torrent and already having an issue with it. It seems that turning the steering wheel all the way around at a very slow speed (like backing out a parking space or turning a tight corner on rough road) causes the Traction Control and ABS lights to come on. After it happened the other day, I put my foot on the gas and it felt like the emergency brake was engaged and I wasn't going anywhere. I out my foot heavy on the gas and the Torrent inched forward.

Could my brakes need changing? Is my ABS locking up? Looking for advice.

Thanks,
Dave

Pull the wheels look at the pads and the wheel sensors.

I've pulled the wheels and I have lots of brake pad and shoes (80% left). The wheel sensor looks OK, no cracks or damage. I unplugged the sensor and it seemed to drive better with no problems. Could it be a faulty sensor or hubs? I don't hear any whirring or humming or sounds from the hubs at higher speeds.

It could be a bad sensor. Typically with the correct scanning tool you can isolate which one is causing the problem.
