Looking to install QJet onto my 1979 400 engine block. The old choke plate is still on the manifold. I realize one tube runs directly to the choke housing. Where does the other tube run, somewhere on the carb? Any pics of a 78/79 TA 400 QJet on the manifold would be helpful. Or comments on the pictures below (X, A, & B). What diameter is the hose, what is the thread size on the choke?

Air is pulled from a fitting on the rear top of the carb into this hole, through the heater tube in the intake, through the choke housing to heat the choke element, and into the carb. Is that the original carb? You could switch to an electric choke.

it ia a 78 carb but should be right for the Pontiac 400 79. Maybe an electric choke, would prefer to get the heat pipe working.

Just bought '79 Trans Am w/ 403 and am in NEED of the choke/heater tube assembly. Any ideas outside of the guy on ebay/emotors for $200.00? Wish I had kept mine from years ago
Thanks,
Michael
