If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hey, I'm Phelan. I'm 17, a life-long Pontiac enthusiast, about 6' tall, and nobody's idea of a fool (except for the Ford fiasco.)

For the record, my first car was actually a '96 Ford Mustang GT4.6, but we'll suffice to say that I'll never buy another fuel-injected (or Ford) car again.

However, being Mr. 14-year-old-with-a-dad-who-has-carpal-tunnel-syndrome didn't make engine swaps easy.

My first solo engine swap was a '96 Ford Mustang GT, replacing the blown-to-hell 4.6 with a much ballsier 4.6DOHC. THe only problem was that it took two months for me to get the job done.

After such a hassle, I'll never buy another computer-controlled car as long as I can get away with it.

It was a nightmare, to say the least.

My next endeavour was a real car, a 1965 Pontiac Tempest that I dug-up thirty miles from my house, only $2500, immaculate frame, minimal body rust, a pretty dirty motor and glasspack exhaust.

I fell in love with the car right away, and haven't been able to get rid of the Mustang (which won't move, due to a recently blown transmission, and thus, is occupying the spot where my Tempest should be.

I'm working on reconstructing the Tempest to become a fusion of modern and antique, the best of both worlds, but only using American parts, and as much Pontiac hardware as I can get my hands on.

The package sits now at:
-'65 Tepmest body/frame, Cameo Ivory White, moderate rust/body damage
-'65 Tempest chrome trim
-'65 GTO tail lights and rear-end
-'65 Tempest grille
-blue vinyl interior
-326CID V8 motor (5.4L for you British blokes)
-550CFM 4bbl carburetor (waaaay too big for the current block)
-2 spd. auto trans/308 rear, positraction

What I hope to have in there by the end of next year is this:
-'65 Tempest frame/body, Cameo Ivory WHite w/pearl metallic hue, zero rust/body damage
-zero trim
-'65 Tempest tail lights
-'65 Tempest grille
-blue denim interior
-250CID OHC6 "Sprint" motor, turbocharged
-400CFM carburetor
-Pioneer 6-disk CD changer, hidden in the glove box
-3 spd. manual trans, /256 rear, positraction

I love my car...
