2004 Pontiac Montana, when I open my drivers door the radio doesn't always shut off any more, I opened the passenger door & it shuts off, I think it's a door pin switch but I don't see a door pin, can you tell me where the drivers door pin switch is & the part # or is there a way to disconnect the radio so it shuts off with the key & not until the door opens?? Thanks

If you look at page 2-33 of your owners manual you will see this is a function of RAP, Retained Accessory Power. The next time this problem occurs check if your power windows continue to function after the drivers door is opened. If so, it's not a radio problem, it's a RAP issue. As you noted there should be a door switch or sensor. In addition there is a relay and the body computer.

thanks so much, I think it is the door switch but do you know of an easy way to disconnect the rap so the radio & windows only work with the key on??

The RAP feature is part of the computer you cannt turn it on and off. Replace the door switch or at least check it for corrosion.

I think theses door switches are magnetic switches, meaning that they operate like a proximity switch. They must be behind the metal???

Checked my van and for the drivers door and passengers door there is no switch, for the 2 rear sliders there are switches.
