• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hello everyone have 1968 Firebird that I bought new. I believe it to be one of the carousel red 68 promo cars. The only thing is my car has the word SPECIAL
printed on the vin tag for the paint code instead of the three dashes that was supposed to be on the original 13 cars built. Jess Tyree has one of original 13 and he has seen mine. He swears mine is one too. My build date preceeds his by two weeks. Does anyone have any info on these cars that might shed some light on this? Pontiac historical services says my car was painted code 1 starlight
black as was Jess's car said the same thing. I found my car went to another place to be painted at the factory. It came down the line in primer. Then it went to design center or enginerring for final paint.
