I got a 75 t/a some times when backing up or tuning slow in a parking lot there is a clicking/groaning noise coming from the rear wheels. also when the car is jacked up I can push the wheel in and out at least a 1/4 inch. would this be somthing to do with the axle bearings and those c clips.

any help would be appreciated

Im not to sure about the wheel moving that much, but Id assume thats probably what teh problem would be, as for the noise, My car also does that, and it has for quite some time now, the noise is normal, what gears do you have? GM makes a diff additive that is supposed to help with the noise, some said it works really well, I tried it and it didnt do nothing for me though. I wouldnt worry about the noise's, ( the whine) The clicking Im thinking may be part of the bearing problem though. Thats no big deal, you can get the rear end redone for under 400$

The groaning and cliking sounds like worn posi discs. The gm brand additive is definitly crap but royal purple makes an additive that works pretty good but I would change the fluid also. As far as the wheel moving in and out some movement is normal but 1/4" seems like alot. If you have the money to spend then get rid of the crappy gm posi unit and go with a detroit tracker tru-trak gear style posi.
