My wife's 2004 Sunfire rear window defrost button has stopped working. I have been told from our local GM dealer that it is combined with the a/c and heater control on the same panel....$350 to replace the switch panel. Does anyone know if I can just install a momentary contact switch to turn the system on? Can the switch be pulled apart and repaired like any other momentary contact switch. I don't know if our local GM shop is just trying to make a sale, or is it really not that difficult to fix. Already checked local bone yards. Not many Sunfires, and what is there belongs there.

A complete panel from www.gmpartsdirect.com is $115.64 and I dont see the switch as separate part.
