rebuilding the rearend in my 1999 pontiac trans am.it has a GM oem rearend.what performance parts do

i use? it has a 3.23 gear ratio in it and i would like to put the best performance parts in it that i can to do the rebuild.any recommendations.

The issue with the factory rears are they only have a 7.625 ring gear No matter what you do to it the size of the ring gear will limit the torque handleing ability of the rear ..
for a little bit more money than it will cost to rebuild the stock rearend with "good" replacement parts (That arent any stronger) you can step up to a bolt in 9" ford or 12 bolt replacment rearend thet will handle three times the torque and HP as the stock one ever would..
if you are keeping the engine stock you could get away with a stock rebuild on the rearend but if you plan on using the car with more than stock HP you better Upgrade...
