• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I have an 04 Grand Prix GTP and about a year and a half ago, I had an after market remote starter installed. Shortly after, the coolant temperature sensor would pop up as failed. First time around I replaced the sensor. Second time around, I got a little smarter and actually tested it, fine, the system was actually alarming it before the engine had time to warm up. Suddenly, now the problem is growing, it's giving me a low transmission fluid temp diagnostic when you first start the car... and it's cold out (imagine that), ABS diagnostic, and traction control disabled (which I really could care less about). I'm not sure if the ABS or traction control can be blamed on it, but the sensors are reading fine, just not being ignored until the car warms up. Ever heard of this? I'm going to take it back to the remote installer, I'll let you know what I found out, but I'd appreciate an input if anyone has ever heard of this.

I'm assuming your check engine light is coming on and you have a scan tool that is giving you codes corresponding to the sited problems? I would check the connector to the BCM for corrosion.

I get a check engine for the for the low coolant and it says that the sensor has failed, but I don't have the ability to scan the transmission or ABS, but if the car is just started and it's 40 out, it's safe to assume that the tranny fluid is going to be about 40, but it's still giving me a low temp diagnostic, same for the coolant.
