removing dashboard

How hard is it to remove a dashboard from a 87 sunbird? Do I have to remove entirely the steering column? I need to remove it to access the entire wall in front of it to locate leak areas as whenever it rains the floor floods. I tried locating leaks from engine bay with only partial success.

I will also remove the front left fender.

Inside water usually leaks from the fresh air inlet on the cowl, you have to take off the wipers, fiberglass cowl cover, and then you can get to the inlet. Gasket or rusted out is the usual problem. Or you can be like me, and the A pilars and cowl is completely rusted out.....
